Many opportunities exist for those wishing to donate their time and talents to learning more about art while
helping the Art Museum of South Texas further its mission of serving the public. Beginning with membership
in AMST, volunteers also serve on committees to plan special events and support exhibits, lead school tours,
support family day programs and help in the Museum Gift Shop.
The AMST docents meet as a group prior to each exhibit cycle to learn about upcoming exhibits from Museum
curators and artists. During the school year, docents provide tours to school classes and special adult groups.
In addition, the group takes several fun trips a year to regional galleries and art installations, and celebrates an
end-of-the-year luncheon at which the "Docent of the Year" is named. For more information about the
program and online docent/student docent applications, visit our Docent page or please contact AMST Education at 361.825.3504 or Angela.Resendez@tamucc.edu.
