The 2015 July 4th Art Museum of South Texas “Sparktacular” Fireworks Viewing Party has been cancelled due to the new launch site near the Marina. The launch location for the Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration has been changed this year from the USS Lexington to a barge off the Marina. The Art Museum’s viewing from the patio outside Hester’s will be blocked by the building. The change in location is anticipated to increase the audience for this year’s fireworks program and ease traffic congestion after the event. All good things for Corpus Christi; however, the new location has significant viewing limitations from the interior of the Art Museum and the Museum is unable to provide the quality indoor and outdoor viewing experience.
The Art Museum will be open regularly scheduled hours on Saturday, July 4th from 10 am - 5 pm with its current exhibitions WARHOL: Myths and Legends, from the Cochran Collection and the WARD ISLAND 12: TAMU-CC Art Faculty Biennial.
Please visit the Mayor’s Big Bang website http://www.bigbangcorpuschristi.com to find the best viewing opportunities for you and your family.
