Liquid Light: Photographs from Beneath the Sea

The portfolio of artists' multiple efforts in the genre of underwater photography includes nine photographers with multiple works in silver gelatin and palladium print techniques. The portfolio is an outgrowth of that new awareness of working with the marine imagery of Ernest Brooks. The Marine Art Photography Portfolio is an invitation to see freshly, and to be aware of some of the wonder-filled and mysterious work being done that is rarely seen. This exhibition was organized by the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Virginia.

This exhibition was conceived by Jeanne Falk Adams, former President, CEO of The Ansel Adams Gallery, arts advocate, and Curator of the Portfolio of Underwater Photographers.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT LIQUID LIGHT:

"The art work is amazing, and the life under the surface of the oceans is virtually unknown. We also rarely think of water as an environment with many ecosystems. This is a special opportunity to almost experience life in the ocean, as well as the beauty of the images themselves." ~ Jeanne Falk Adams

"The world beneath the oceans' surface remains mysterious and greatly unexplored. It is, in fact, Earth's last frontier. These ten California-based photographers take us on a journey of discovery by capturing the mystery and beauty of this underwater environment. Armed with an innate respect for nature and the sea, these artists apply their particular sensibilities to interpret this otherworldly setting. These highly personal explorations also serve as a reminder of the fragility of sea life." ~The Mariners' Museum, Newport News, VA.
