There are many ways you can support the Art Museum of South Texas and its mission of advancing the awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts.

Specifically, your gift will:

  • Help enhance art education for thousands of area children
  • Support the growth of the Permanent Art Collection
  • Contribute to the Museum’s overall operations
  • Support exciting new exhibitions

If you would like to donate to a specific area of the Museum, you may.

Leslie’s Legacy

The Leslie Aigner Endowment for the Arts provides AMST summer camp scholarships to deserving recipients. Donate using the link and help coastal bend families in need, while also strengthening Leslie’s legacy.

From the Heart

The Honor an Angel program was established in 2000 by Marcella “Marcie” Michels Taylor as part of the Tree of Joy and Remembrance installation during the holidays. Created to recognize individuals who have made a difference in our lives, the Angel’s Scroll provides an opportunity for donors to honor friends and loved ones, and recognize loved ones no longer living. Living honorees and the family of those being remembered are sent an acknowledgment notifying them that their name or the name of a loved one is listed on the Angel’s Scroll.

On display each year from Thanksgiving through December, the Angel’s Scroll serves as a centerpiece for Museum holiday activities.

Your gift ensures the Art Museum will continue to reach, inspire, and engage our entire community.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is another way to ensure that the Art Museum can continue to advance its mission into the future. This allows you to support the Art Museum while also addressing the financial security of your family.

Some of the ways to do this include:

  • Naming the museum in a living will or trust.
  • Designating life insurance policy proceeds or donating an insurance policy.
  • Making the Art Museum a beneficiary of your retirement plan, IRA, 401(k), or 203(b).
  • Transferring real estate to the Art Museum through a life estate.
  • Promising a gift of a work of art that the Art Museum has agreed to accept.

Be assured that your contribution is a vital source of funding for the Art Museum of South Texas!

Please contact the development office at

Art Donations

Thank you for considering the Art Museum of South Texas as a beneficiary of work from your collection. All donations must undergo curatorial review. Works of art delivered to the museum without approval from the Curator will not be considered.

The first step in the donation process is to complete a donor questionnaire, provide images and detailed descriptions and provenance (history of ownership). Upon receipt, the images and documentation will be researched and circulated to determine if the object(s) are appropriate for addition to the Museum’s permanent collection. All potential gifts recommended by the Curator are presented to the Museum’s Collections Committee and Board of Trustees for final approval. After review and discussion, you will be contacted by a representative from the curatorial department with our decision.

PLEASE NOTE: The Museum does not perform identifications, authentications, or appraisals. You can find a certified appraiser at www.appraisers.org or www.isa-appraisers.org.
