The Quilts of Gee’s Bend

The women of Gee’s Bend — a small, remote, black community in Alabama — have created hundreds of quilt masterpieces dating from the early twentieth century to the present. We’ll examine these and their connection to Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement as we create our own colorful quilt collages.
