Portraits: Hand-Drawn and Painted

Instructor: Jimmy Peña

Taking inspiration from the Eye to I: Self-Portraits from the National Portrait Gallery exhibition currently on view, this class, geared for beginners, will focus on basic gestural drawing and painting techniques to create captivating portraits. Artist Jimmy Peña will show you how to use both charcoal and acrylic paint to make your portraiture more expressive. Participants will produce both a portrait drawing and a painting from a live model. All supplies provided.
