AGELESS ART: Works from AMST’s Senior Outreach Program

As part of the Museum’s Ageless Art program sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts, seniors from various centers around the city, including Alameda Oaks Nursing Center, Broadmoor Park Senior Center, Conviva Care Centers (Alameda and Port), Greenwood Senior Center, Oveal Williams Senior Center and Zavala Senior Center, took part in an eight week art program over the summer.

Stimulating cognition and memory retention through hands-on art practice, the classes were designed to help lessen depression and anxiety as well as give the participants a greater sense of control, increase their self-esteem, and provide socialization.

The exhibition remains on view at the Museum until September 29th.
